3,74 miliar (19,27%) saham BUMI, digadaikan ke Odickson Finance untuk memperoleh pinjaman sebear US$ 1,08 miliar
Juli 2008
581,4 juta saham BUMI digadaikan ke JP Morgan, dan 697,3 juta ke ICICI untuk memperoleh pinjaman masing-masing senilai US$ 150 juta. Selain itu, 3,53 juta saham BUMI juga digadaikan ke Sucorinvets Gani untuk memperoleh pinjaman Rp 15 miliar
Juli-Agustus 2008
59,12 juta saham BUMI digadaikan ke PNM Investment untuk memperoleh pinjaman Rp 231,8 miliar
31 Oktober 2008
Konsorsium Northstar Pacific Partners (Northstar) membeli 35% saham BUMI senilai US$ 1,3 miliar (sekitar Rp 14,5 triliun atau US$ 0,1914 per lembar saham.
Pada tanggal 7 oktober 2008 sampai 5 November 2008 saham BUMI disuspensi oleh BEI dan pada tanggal 6 November saham BUMI dibuka kembali.
